General Provisions Regarding Academic Ranks. a) All Adjunct faculty member may request consideration for adjustment of rank from their Department Chair as provided above. b) Faculty members entering the AFT bargaining unit with an academic rank other than those listed above will be given the opportunity to retain their previous rank or be assigned a comparable rank at the discretion of the Department Chair. c) Faculty who are current employees at the time this contract is ratified may, at their option, continue to hold their current rank provided that it is a rank available in the CBA in effect when they were hired. d) Those PSU faculty who retire from a ranked position that is more than half-time and are thereafter hired as an Adjunct at PSU will retain the equivalent rank as an Adjunct.
