In the case of serious concern for the health and well-being of the scholar, the Recipient will notify the British Council. The Recipient will monitor the attendance and academic performance of the scholars in line with their established procedures and code of conduct to make sure scholars meet the requirements. The Recipient will submit a mid-fellowship report to the British Council summarising fellow’s progress. This report will particularly note any scholars deemed at risk of not successfully completing the course of study. Where further actions to support the fellow by the Recipient are not possible, the British Council and Recipient will agree an appropriate course of action regarding the continuation of scholarship benefits, reserving the right in extreme cases and with due warning to the fellow, to withdraw further scholarship benefits. Where the Recipient becomes aware of behaviour from the fellow that could bring the British Council into disrepute, including actions or words that are counter to the British Council’s values of respect, tolerance, equality, diversity and inclusion, the Recipient will inform the British Council immediately. Both parties will agree an appropriate course of action regarding the continuation of scholarship benefits, reserving the right in extreme cases and with due warning to the scholar, to withdraw further scholarship benefits. In the case of a scholar withdrawing from the programme and returning home early at any point in the cycle, the Recipient will inform the British Council immediately.
