Common use of Granting of Status Clause in Contracts

Granting of Status. Whenever the Civil Service Commission or other appropriate authority grants an employee direct status in a higher paying class, the range for which is approximately one (1) step greater than the range of the employee's former class, the employee shall receive the step determined by the rule governing promotions.
