Common use of Guarantee in Assigned Service Clause in Contracts

Guarantee in Assigned Service. (a) Regular assignments may be established in through freight, wayfreight, wreck, work and construction service to operate in accordance with the requirements of the service provided that trainmen on such assignments are guaranteed miles per month. The guarantee shall be reduced by miles for each general holiday occurring in any month. If through act of Providence, it is impossible to perform regular service, guarantee does not apply. Crews may be used in other service to the when, for any reason their assignment is discontinued.
