Higher Rate – Filling Vacancies. A Class 2 Employee hired after March 5, 2000 required to temporarily fill (as defined in 9.01 and 9.02) a Class 1 position calling for a higher rate of pay than their own, shall receive the rate of the Class 1 or a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour worked or the rate for the position, whichever is less.
