Hire back. When an employee is hired on a voluntary basis, to fill a vacancy to maintain staffing requirements as determined by the Employer for an extra shift or portion thereof, he/she will be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) pay.

Hire back. When a member, at the request of the District, works a partial or full shift, which is not scheduled pursuant to Section 16.2, he/she shall be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the member’s basic hourly rate. The member shall receive a minimum of one (1) hour of time guaranteed for each incident or request to which he/she reports. All additional time over the first one hour will be paid in thirty (30) minute increments.
Hire back. A hire back is defined as when an employee is asked to return to work any time after completion of his or her regular shift, except when called back within 2 hours prior to the beginning of his or her regularly scheduled shift.

  • Overtime-Exempt Employees Overtime-exempt employees are not covered by federal or state overtime laws. Compensation is based on the premise that overtime-exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as necessary to provide the public services for which they were hired. These employees are accountable for their work product and for meeting the objectives of the agency for which they work. The Employer’s policy for all overtime-exempt employees is as follows:

  • Exempt Employees (1) Except as may otherwise be provided by specific terms of this Agreement, C.G.S. Section 5-245(b)(1) shall be deemed to exempt from overtime payment all employees being paid above Salary Grade 24, and those unclassified positions which on June 30, 1977 were deemed exempt positions. Subject to the operating needs of the agency:

  • Policy Grievance – Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance alleging a general misinterpretation or violation by the Union or any employee by filing a written grievance with the Bargaining Unit President, with a copy to the Labour Relations Officer within twenty (20) days after the circumstances have occurred. A meeting will be held between the parties within ten (10) days. The Union shall reply within ten (10) days after the meeting, and failing settlement, the matter may be referred to arbitration.

  • Benefit Level Two Health Care Network Determination Issues regarding the health care networks for the 2017 insurance year shall be negotiated in accordance with the following procedures:

  • Newly Hired Employees All employees hired to an insurance eligible position must make their benefit elections by their initial effective date of coverage as defined in this Article, Section 5C. Insurance eligible employees will automatically be enrolled in basic life coverage. If employees eligible for a full Employer Contribution do not choose a health plan administrator and a primary care clinic by their initial effective date, and do not waive medical coverage, they will be enrolled in a Benefit Level Two clinic (or Level One, if available) that meets established access standards in the health plan with the largest number of Benefit Level One and Two clinics in the county of the employee’s residence at the beginning of the insurance year. If an employee does not choose a health plan administrator and primary care clinic by their initial effective date, but was previously covered as a dependent immediately prior to their initial effective date, they will be defaulted to the plan administrator and primary care clinic in which they were previously enrolled.

  • Contractor Employees 10.1 Details of any individuals employed by contractors working in the school.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Non-Exempt Employees Non-exempt employees shall not be paid for the period of the closure. However, employees shall be allowed to use accrued vacation, compensatory time off, personal leave or approved leave without pay for the absence(s). A non-exempt employee arriving at work after the Employer/Agency has announced a closure or curtailment of operations may be directed to leave work and if so directed shall not be paid for the remainder of the shift unless utilizing accrued leave as described above. An employee who actually begins work shall be entitled to pay for all actual hours worked.
