Horizontal Advancement for Degree Earned. A faculty member earning a degree will advance to the appropriate degree lane (BA, MA, or DOC) at a rate of one lane per academic year. a. For faculty members with a Master’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for graduate courses from a regionally accredited institution in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President. b. For faculty members with a Bachelor’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for graduate courses from a regionally accredited institution towards a Master’s degree in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President. c. For faculty members with an Associate’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for undergraduate courses from a regionally accredited institution towards a bachelor’s degree in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President.
