Horizontal Advancement for Degree Earned. A faculty member earning a degree will advance to the appropriate degree lane (BA, MA, or DOC) at a rate of one lane per academic year. a. For faculty members with a Master’s degree, credit for horizontal advancement will only be allowed for graduate courses from a regionally accredited institution in your teaching field or closely related area, unless otherwise previous approved by the Vice President. b.
