Common use of IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY Clause in Contracts

IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY. The Parties recognize and agree that safety is of paramount importance in the implementation of the MHP Program and Parties are responsible for performing the work in a safe manner. Parties shall plan and conduct the work, and shall require all contractors and subcontractors to abide by all safety requirements incorporated herein and to perform their portion of the work, in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal rules, regulations, codes, and ordinances to safeguard persons and property from injury. The MHP Owner/Operator shall require its Contractor to provide necessary training to its employees and Subcontractors to inform them of the foregoing safety and health rules and standards. Should PG&E at any time observe the contractor, or any of its subcontractors, performing the work in an unsafe manner, or in a manner that may, if continued, become unsafe, then PG&E shall have the right (but not the obligation) to require the MHP Owner/Operator to stop contractor’s work affected by the unsafe practice until contractor has taken corrective action so that the work performance has been rendered safe.
