In Other Than Assault and Battery Cases. (1) As required by statute, the Board shall provide legal counsel, and pay court costs and judgments related to any administrative or judicial proceeding or suit involving an employee who has acted in the discharge of his/her duties within the scope of his/her employment. The employee must, however, deliver copies of any legal papers served upon him/her to the Office of the Board's Counsel not later than ten (10) days after service. Disciplinary proceedings involving paraprofessionals shall be excluded from the provisions of this Section.
