In-Service Trial Period Upon Promotion or Transfer. i. A promoted or transferred employee will be on in-service trial period during the first three (3) months of the promotion or transfer to determine suitability in the position. If an employee does not prove satisfactory in the new position, the City shall place the employee in a position at the same pay level as the employee's former class, without loss of seniority. ii. Where a promoted or transferred employee is absent during the in-service trial period, the in-service trial period shall be extended by the number of days absent.
