Common use of Increase of Duties Clause in Contracts

Increase of Duties. When the duties in any classification are changed or increased, or where the Union feels an employee is unfairly or incorrectly classified, or when a position not covered in Appendix “A” (1) is established, during the term of this agreement, the rate of pay shall be subject to negotiations between the Employer and the Union. If the parties are unable to agree on the reclassification and/or rate of pay of the job in question, such dispute shall be submitted to grievance and arbitration. The new rate shall become retroactive to the time the position was first filled by the employee.
