Common use of Independent Applicant Clause in Contracts

Independent Applicant. (1) For the purposes of the production insurance program, an applicant for a contract of insurance, or an insured, shall be financially and operationally independent of all other farm businesses growing the same insurable crop or insurable crop group. (2) Before separate insurance contracts can be issued for a farm operation with multiple partners or owners, or before insurable crops or insurable crop groups on a farm unit can be split, the applicant or the insured shall provide documents to prove financial independence, as specified in subsection (2.1).
