Common use of Insurance Carrier Rating Clause in Contracts

Insurance Carrier Rating. The insurance required shall be issued by insurance companies authorized to do business within the State of Washington. Insurance is to be placed with an insurer that has a “Best” rating of A-, Class VII or better. Exceptions include placement with a “Surplus Lines” insurer or an insurer with a Best’s rating lower than A-, Class VII.
