Interpretation of Judgmental Criteria. No single statement of criteria can be sufficient for all academic units and disciplines within the University. Each academic unit, through its Department Policy Statement, must interpret and apply these judgmental criteria by the currently prevailing standards of the relevant field/discipline/profession. Departments without an approved tenure policy interpreting judgmental criteria will have their applications for tenure evaluated by faculty committees and administrators on the basis of the general meanings attributed to these criteria.
