Common use of Interpretations of Contract Documents Clause in Contracts

Interpretations of Contract Documents. On written request of either the Owner or Contractor, Project Manager will interpret, or cause the Architect/Engineer to interpret, and the Project Manager will decide, matters concerning performance of the Work under, and the requirements of, the Contract Documents. Delay shall not be recognized on account of Project Manager’s failure to furnish to Contractor any interpretation until fifteen (15) days after specific written request is made for it. Project Manager’s and/or Architect/Engineer’s interpretations, and the decisions of the Project Manager thereon, will be consistent with the intent of and reasonably inferable from the Contract Documents and will be made in writing or in the form of Drawings. The Project Manager’s decisions on matters relating to aesthetic effect will be final if consistent with the intent expressed in the Contract Documents.
