Common use of Interpreting and Translation Services Clause in Contracts

Interpreting and Translation Services. Provider shall (i) provide qualified sign language interpreters if closed captioning is not the appropriate auxiliary aid for the Member; (ii) ensure the Provider’s staff are trained to appropriately communicate with Members with various types of hearing loss; and (iii) report to Health Plan, in a format and frequency to be determined by Health Plan, whether hearing loss accommodations are needed and provided, and the type of accommodation provided.

Provider shall must comply with the following provisions regarding interpreting and translation services: (ia) Provider must provide qualified sign language interpreters if closed captioning is not the appropriate auxiliary aid for the MemberEnrollee; (iib) Provider must ensure the Provider’s employees and contracted staff are trained to appropriately communicate with Members recipients with various types of hearing loss; and (iiic) Provider shall report to Health PlanLME, in a format and frequency to be determined by Health PlanLME, whether hearing loss accommodations are needed and provided, and the type of accommodation provided.
