Common use of Interruption of Airport Operations Clause in Contracts

Interruption of Airport Operations. If Contractor requires interruption of Airport facilities or utilities in order to perform work, Contractor must notify the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the project at least five (5) working days in advance of such time and must obtain the Deputy Commissioner’s approval prior to interrupting the service. Interruption of service must be kept to an absolute minimum, and to the extent practicable the work which occasions such interruptions must be performed in stages in order to reduce the time of each interruption. In case of interruptions of electrical services, service must be restored prior to sunset of the same day. Prior to start of work, the Contractor must request of the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the project to provide specific requirements and instructions which are applicable to the particular work site areas, including, but not limited to, areas available for storage of any equipment, materials, tools and supplies needed to perform the work. Contractors must advise the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the project of the volume of equipment, materials, tools, and supplies that will be required in the secured areas of the airport in order to make arrangements for inspection of such equipment, materials, tools, and supplies at a security checkpoint.
