Common use of Issuance of Permits Clause in Contracts

Issuance of Permits. Developer shall have the sole responsibility for obtaining all Permits and shall make application therefor directly to the applicable agency within the District of Columbia government or other authority. District shall, upon request by Developer, execute applications for such Permits as are required by the District of Columbia government or other authority, at no cost, expense, obligation, or liability to District. In no event shall Developer commence site work or construction of all or any portion of the Project until Developer shall have obtained all Permits for the work in question. Developer shall submit its application for Permits for the Project within a period of time that Developer believes in good faith is sufficient to allow issuance of such Permits prior to the date of Closing. From and after the date of Developer's submission of an application for a Permit, Developer shall diligently prosecute such application until receipt. In addition, from and after submission of any such application until issuance of the Permit, Developer shall report Permit status in writing every thirty (30) days to District, or such other reporting period as agreed to by District.
