Common use of Jointing Clause in Contracts

Jointing. Where it is necessary to break out or connect to an existing sewer during construction, only new pipe having the same inside diameter will be used in reconnecting the sewer. Where joints must be made between pipes with a mismatched wall thickness, the contractor shall use flexible gasketed coupling, adapter, or coupling-adapter to make a watertight joint.
