Layout and Field Engineering. 11.4.1 All field engineering required for layout of this Work and establishing grades for earthwork operations shall be furnished by Developer at its expense. This Work shall be done by a qualified, California-registered civil engineer or licensed land surveyor approved in writing by District and Architect. Any required Record and/or As-Built Drawings of Site development shall be prepared by the approved civil engineer or licensed land surveyor. 11.4.2 Developer shall be responsible for having ascertained pertinent local conditions such as location, accessibility, and general character of the Site and for having satisfied itself as to the conditions under which the Work is to be performed. District shall not be liable for any claim for allowances because of Developer’s error or negligence in acquainting itself with the conditions at the Site. 11.4.3 Developer shall protect and preserve established benchmarks and monuments and shall make no changes in locations without the prior written approval of District. Developer shall replace any benchmarks or monuments that are lost or destroyed subsequent to proper notification of District and with District's approval.
