Common use of Leave to Serve in the General Clause in Contracts

Leave to Serve in the General. Assembly A leave of absence to serve in the General Assembly of the State of Illinois will be granted without salary to an Employee elected to such office and making a request for such leave according to the laws of the State of Illinois. 9.9.1 A year or years served on a leave to serve in the General Assembly shall not apply as a year or years of experience on Appendix A. 9.9.2 In accordance with Section 24-13 of the Illinois School Code, (a) the contractual continued service status of an Employee shall not be affected because of serving in the General Assembly, and (b) an Employee employed to replace one serving in the General Assembly will not acquire contractual continued service under Article 24 of The Illinois School Code.
