Hence, it contains large amounts of missing data and cannot be used alone but rather in conjunction with date information. Inpatient hospital stays take into account information from the Medical Provider Component (MPC), the variable NUMNIGHX may not be adjusted to reflect the entire length of stay based on the MPC.
