LINEMAN. An employee who is at the journey level and is engaged in performing all classes of electrical power transmission and distribution system construction, maintenance and operation work. May be required to operate a truck, equipment, and any tools used in connection with the employee's duties. Maybe required to work alone in troubleshooting electrical power distribution system problems. May be required to direct the work of other employees. Must have a background of apprenticeship and experience, which shall be such as to qualify the employee to perform these duties with skill and efficiency.

LINEMAN. An electrical worker who is classified as such by the Union and is qualified by training to perform the work described as the outside jurisdiction in the IBEW Constitution.
LINEMAN. An employee who is a Journeyman and who performs all classes of overhead and underground transmission and distribution line work and construction, erection and maintenance of substations; and who is qualified by training and knowledge of underground circuits, substations, and apparatus to test, maintain and install duct line, cable, conduits, risers, employer owned customer equipment, substation equipment and circuits, meter loops, services and system electrical apparatus. Will make connections to underground circuits and substation feeder installations as well as making underground connections on customer services. May be required to read meters for any purpose and will be expected to check meter numbers to the records, record meter readings on forms as required, observe and report any unusual or abnormal consumption’s or conditions of meters or metering equipment, complete any and all forms as may be required to record changes. In addition, Employee may be required to do routing collecting of accounts; reports and complete such forms as may be necessary to record the results of customer contacts made for collection purposes. Background of apprenticeship training and experience must be such as to qualify him to perform these duties with skill and efficiency. A Lineman may be assigned to work apart from a regular crew, as a member of a two or three-man unit without supervision, doing work which shall include all of the above duties as well as:

The employee may be required to drive a truck and operate any associated equipment, and must possess the appropriate State of California driver’s license. The employee’s background of apprenticeship and experience shall be such as to qualify the employee to perform these duties with skill and efficiency. The employee shall be capable of performing the duties safely.
LINEMAN. An employee who has satisfactorily completed his apprenticeship and who performs all classes of overhead and underground transmission and distribution work. Must possess a valid State Class A Driver's License before assignment to the job. An employee who has attained, by training and education, Journeyman Service Technician status. Must be thoroughly trained in all aspects of gasoline and diesel engines. Must be fully trained in performing repairs on all vehicles, ranging from passenger cars through heavy duty line equipment. Must be knowledgeable in compiling and maintaining all required fleet maintenance records and must possess a valid State Class A Driver's license within six months of hire date.
LINEMAN. Lineman employed under the terms of this Agreement shall provide themselves with the following tools: Hammer, pliers, (long-nose pliers on underground jobs), ruler, 00" xxxxxxxx xxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxx, skinning knife, body belt, safety strap and climbers.
LINEMAN. A. Routine Switching Assignment When an employee classified as a Lineman is assigned to perform switching, taking or holding a clearance and is not under the direct supervision of a working xxxxxxx or exempt supervisor during the time switching is being performed, such employee will be compensated for performing a routine switching assignment as defined below, at the Lineman rate: (1) Work assignments in the overhead that include one clearance point with switching in one location to clear the circuit for work or return it to normal; (2) Work assignments in the underground URD or UCD non-network systems that include no more than two clearance points with switching (any operation on the switching log) performed by the employee in no more than two locations, regardless of the number of switching operations involved, to clear the circuit for work performed by the employee doing the switching or to return it to normal.
