Lump Sum Payment for Graduate Study Beyond 60 Credit Hours. A unit member who has been employed in the District for 5 years prior to request for prior approval of course work, and has accumulated 60 Credit Hours is eligible for the lump sum compensation for approved graduate study which consists of course work taken in a NYS accredited graduate program in the subject area currently being taught by the unit member, or to be assigned by the District in a future school year, and which has received prior written approval by the Superintendent of Schools a minimum of 30 days prior to the first day of class. Applications for approval must be submitted to the Superintendent a minimum of 40 days prior to the first day of class. In addition, the unit member must have received a passing grade of B or better as verified by an official college transcript submitted to the Superintendent. The District will compensate up to 4 graduate hours per school year in an amount equal to the current SUNY graduate tuition rate at Geneseo per graduate hour. Payment will be made not more than 30 days after receipt of the transcript by the Superintendent.
