M RELATIONSHIP OF THE PARTIES. The relationship between the State and the Contractor is that of client and independent contractor. No agent, employee, or servant of the Contractor or any of its subcontractors shall be or shall be deemed an employee, agent, or servant of the State for any reason. I-N COST LIABILITY The State of Michigan assumes no responsibility or liability for costs incurred by the Contractor prior to the signing this contract. Total liability of the State is limited to the terms and conditions of this contract.
