Machinist Helper Work Description. As an employee of the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad machinist helper work shall consist of servicing and maintaining locomotives and their appurtenances which include the following: Service, inspect and supply locomotives with fuel, water lubricating material, brake shoes, sand, sand hoses and their piping, cab supplies, wash and clean locomotives cabs and car bodies. Helpers will be responsible to assist a machinist in any of the activities that may be classified as machinists work.
