Maintenance of Patents and Licenses. Subject to the provisions of Section 8.1.2 with respect to Discontinued Patents, VERTEX will take all reasonable steps to obtain any consent required for and to maintain in effect, including by means of extension, any license, sublicense, patent or patent application applicable to the Field for which it has granted rights to NOVARTIS hereunder.
