Maintenance or loss of compensation. In all cases where travelling expenses are payable under this division, when an employee does not report to work on the working day either preceding or following statutory holidays or days of bad weather or when he is absent on a working day, he forfeits his right to such compensation for the working day, the days of bad weather and the statutory holidays in question. The employer continues to pay the compensation for room and board for any days of work lost by an employee in the seven (7) days following the date on which he has sustained an accident not requiring hospitalization on such days. This compensation shall be paid provided the employee does not leave the location for which he is being compensated and provided he submits, at the employer’s request, a medical attestation confirming his inability.
