Common use of Meetings of Societies Clause in Contracts

Meetings of Societies. Leave of absence to attend meetings of societies, or to serve on committees or commissions of such organizations, may be granted upon request of the unit member and recommendation of the Superintendent. The activities or purposes of the organization must serve to advance the welfare of schools through the upgrading and strengthening of their profession. Such leaves of absence will be without loss of pay to the unit member and with or without travel expense to the District.
