Mental Health Intake. The Jail’s mental health intake may take place as part of the Jail’s general initial intake screening. The Jail will ensure that the mental health screening aspect is completed within four hours of admission, or as soon as practicable if there are a large number of prisoners being processed through intake, by a Qualified Mental Health Professional to identify mental health issues, in a confidential setting. The mental health intake will be fully documented and available to mental health staff in each prisoner’s file as soon as possible.
