Common use of Meter Installation Clause in Contracts

Meter Installation. (a) Unless this requirement is waived by the Scheme Owner, a Meter acceptable to the Scheme Owner must be acquired and installed, at the cost of the Customer, within the Customer’s Offtake Works or Distribution Network. (b) The Customer may: (i) install the Meter itself; (ii) arrange for a third party to install the Meter; or (iii) request the Scheme Owner to install the Meter in accordance with clause 5.1. (c) Any party installing (or arranging for the installation of) a Meter must install the same correctly in accordance with the approval under clause 11.4. (d) The Scheme Owner’s right under clause 12.1(a) includes the right to require the replacement or upgrade of a Meter already installed where such replacement or upgrading is necessary in the reasonable opinion of the Scheme Owner, but at the cost of the Scheme Owner or, where the Customer has breached clause 12.2, the Customer.
