Misrepresentation of Financial or Family Status. The Housing Authority will utilize the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system or its successor to verify the income reported by the Resident. The EIV system is a web based system that contains Resident wage and benefit data. If it is found at any time that Resident has misrepresented and/or failed to report facts upon which his/her rent is based, so that the rent he/she is paying is less/more than he/she should have been charged, then the increase/decrease in rent shall be made retroactive to the first of the month following the month in which the misrepresentation or failure to report occurred. In addition, such actions or omissions by Resident constitute a serious violation of Resident's duties under this Lease, and the Housing Authority may terminate the Lease pursuant to Section 14 herein.

Misrepresentation of Financial or Family Status. The Housing Authority will provide prior to or at the time of move-in a brochure regarding the Rental Housing Integrity Improvement Project, Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) & You. By signing this Lease, the Resident acknowledges receipt and understands and the importance of properly reporting changes regarding household income. The Housing Authority will utilize the (EIV) system or its successor to verify the income reported by the Resident. The EIV system is a web based system that contains Resident wage and benefit data. If it is found at any time that Resident has misrepresented and/or failed to report facts upon which his/her rent is based, so that the rent he/she is paying is less/more than he/she should have been charged, then the increase/decrease in rent shall be made retroactive to the first of the month following the month in which the misrepresentation or failure to report occurred. We will tell you the results within three (3) business days after completing our investigation. If we decide that there was no error, we will send you a written explanation. You may ask for copies of the documents that we used in our investigation.
