Modes of Participation. The NMT judgments have influenced the current definitions of four different modes of participation in a crime: (1) ordering; (2) joint criminal enterprise; (3) aiding and abetting; and (4) command responsibility. “Taking a consenting part” has also played a minor – and somewhat confused – role at the ICTY.
