Nature of Lessee’s Obligation Unconditional. The Lessee’s obligations under this Agreement to pay Rental Payments shall be absolute, unconditional and general obligations, irrespective of any defense or any rights of set-off, recoupment or counterclaim or deduction and without any rights of suspension, deferment, diminution or reduction it might otherwise have against the Agency or any other Person. Such obligations of the Lessee shall arise whether or not the Project has been completed as provided in this Agreement and whether or not any Mortgagee shall be honoring its obligations under the related financing documents. The Lessee will not suspend or discontinue payment of any Rental Payment due and payable hereunder or terminate this Agreement (other than such termination as is provided for hereunder) or suspend the performance or observance of any covenant or agreement required on the part of the Lessee hereunder for any cause whatsoever, and the Lessee waives all rights now or hereafter conferred by statute or otherwise to quit, terminate, cancel or surrender this Agreement or any obligation of the Lessee under this Agreement except as provided in this Agreement or to any abatement, suspension, deferment, diminution or reduction in the Rental Payments hereunder.
