Newborn Children. A newborn child is covered for 31 days from the date of birth. To continue coverage beyond this initial period, the child must be enrolled in HMO within the initial 31 day period. If coverage does not require the payment of an additional Premium for a Covered Dependent, the Subscriber must still enroll the child within 31 days after the date of birth. The coverage for newly born, adopted children, and children placed for adoption consists of coverage of injury and sickness, including the necessary care and treatment of congenital defects and birth abnormalities, and within the limits of this Certificate.
