Non-Reimbursed Arrangements with Local Public Health Entities. The HMO must coordinate with Public Health Entities in each Service Area regarding the provision of essential public health care services. In addition to the requirements listed above in Section 8.2.2, or otherwise required under state law or this contract, the HMO must meet the following requirements: 1. Report to public health entities regarding communicable diseases and/or diseases that are preventable by immunization as defined by state law; 2. Notify the local Public Health Entity, as defined by state law, of communicable disease outbreaks involving Members; 3. Educate Members and Providers regarding WIC services available to Members; and 4. Coordinate with local public health entities that have a child lead program, or with DSHS regional staff when the local public health entity does not have a child lead program, for follow-up of suspected or confirmed cases of childhood lead exposure.
