NONDISCRIMINATION AND DIVERSITY COMMITMENT. A. Nondiscrimination: The District and the Union agree not to discriminate against any employee covered by this Agreement because of his/her political activities, political beliefs, District approved Union activities, or Union membership and because of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, marital status, veterans status, or sexual orientation, and to the extent prohibited by law, no employee shall be discriminated against because of age, sex, or physical handicap. B. No employee shall be coerced, intimidated or otherwise discriminated against for the exercise of rights guaranteed by federal or state laws, the rules and regulations of the Public Employment Relations Board or the provisions of this Agreement.
