Common use of Nonrenewal Appeal Clause in Contracts

Nonrenewal Appeal. Upon his/her request, the teacher will be granted a hearing with the Board to explain why the Board should not follow the nonrenewal recommendation. The teacher must make this request for a hearing in writing within ten (10) days after receiving the written reasons. The hearing shall occur prior to the Board acting on the teacher’s contract, prior to June 30. At the hearing, the teacher will have an Association representative of his/her choice present and the Superintendent shall have the right to have a representative of his/her choice present. The hearing will take place in executive session and be chaired by the Board President.
