Common use of Notices and Permits Clause in Contracts

Notices and Permits. A. The Contractor at its sole cost shall take out and pay for all approvals, permits, certificates and licenses required by Laws, pay all charges and fees, and pay for (or cause the appropriate Subcontractor to pay for) all utilities required for the proper execution of the Work. B. The Contractor shall comply with all Laws and shall give all notices required thereby. C. Except as otherwise specified in this Contract, it is not the Contractor's responsibility to ascertain that the Contract Documents are in accordance with applicable Laws. However, if the Contractor observes that portions of the Contract Documents are at variance with the requirements of Laws, the Contractor shall promptly notify the Designer and Awarding Authority in writing, and necessary changes shall be accomplished by an appropriate Contract Modification.
