Number of attempts. ‌ Each academic year, students have two opportunities to complete a module. In the case of work placements and long-term assignments where a resit cannot take place in the same year, the programme manager may decide to offer students only one opportunity to complete a module in the same academic year. If there is reason to do so based on a student’s personal circumstances (see Section 5.2), the Examination Board may decide to deviate from the limitation in the number of times a student can retake an examination in a way that is advantageous for the student. The Examination Board will seek advice from the student counsellor and, where necessary, from the relevant lecturer and/or student counsellor before making a decision. If a module is no longer offered, the degree programme will offer students a further two opportunities to take an interim examination or partial examination for this module in the following year. If a student fails a module in the academic year in which she took the module and wishes to retake an interim examination or partial examination for that module the following academic year, the requirements imposed will be those that applied in the academic year in which the student took the module in question.
