OBTAINING AND MAINTAINING PATENTS COVERING DEVELOPMENT INVENTIONS. Each Party will determine, in its sole discretion, whether and where to file patent applications covering Development Inventions of which it is the sole owner. Each Party will be solely responsible for the prosecution of patent applications and the maintenance of patents covering Development Inventions of which it is the sole owner. With respect to Joint Development Inventions, the Parties will be governed by the provisions of Section 143 in determining whether and where to file patent applications and in allocating responsibility for the prosecution of patent applications and the maintenance of patents.
