The "On commencement" clause defines when the terms of an agreement or contract become effective. On commencement if during a period of eligible employment an employee received a payment in lieu of long service leave, or an equivalent type of leave, in the ACTPS or another jurisdiction, the employee is taken to have been granted a period of long service leave equal to the period of long service leave that payment was made for.

The Managing Agent shall from the Commencement Date perform and discharge all of the obligations of an employer in relation to the Existing Employees, including all obligations under sections 257 and 258 of the Pensions ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ in relation to pension provision and shall procure that any Sub-Contractor do the same in relation to Sub- Contractor Employees.
On commencement. Each party represents and warrants to the other party as at the date of this agreement and the date of each DR Schedule that:
C2.2.1 it has taken all necessary action to authorise the signing, delivery and performance of this agreement;
C2.2.2 it has power to enter into and perform its obligations under this agreement; and
C2.2.3 it holds all Approvals required by it for this agreement.

On commencement. 19.2.1. Where on the commencement of the Contract, staff transfer from a previous Provider, the Provider hereby acknowledges and undertakes to the Council that with effect from the Commencement Date it will become the employer of the transferring staff on the transfer of the undertaking to which the TUPE Regulations apply; and
19.2.2. The Provider shall indemnify and keep the Council indemnified from and against all loss incurred by the Council in connection with or as a result of any claim or demand by any transferring staff (whether in contract, tort, under statute, pursuant to European law or otherwise) arising directly or indirectly from any act, fault or omission of the Provider in respect of any transferring staff on or after the Commencement Date or any claim arising out of any change made by the Provider on or after the Commencement Date to such transferring staff’s terms and conditions of employment.
On commencement. Before commencing business and offering the Franchise Services, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ agrees to attend and complete an in-house training program provided by Franchisor. With the exception of travel and living expenses incurred by Franchisee in attending such in-house training, the expense of the in-house training will be met by Franchisor. The training will embrace:
8.1.1 How to mix and apply cleaning products and use equipment under normal working conditions for the class of franchise granted;
8.1.2 How to compute customer quotes for services;
8.1.3 How to solicit and maintain business;
8.1.4 How to keep and maintain business records and accounts;
8.1.5 How to replace inventory, otherwise enter into, and conduct the class of franchise granted using the Chem-Dry System.
