In order to initiate such a request, the secondary school teachers’ bargaining unit and the secondary school occasional teachers’ bargaining unit of a district school board shall contact the OSSTF bargaining agent to request that the units are combined. The school board and bargaining agent may meet to discuss the timing and implementation of the requested combination. It is understood that terms and conditions of employment for occasional teachers remain status quo upon consolidation, subject to bargaining processes.
