Common use of OTHERS WHO MAY BECOME MEMBERS Clause in Contracts

OTHERS WHO MAY BECOME MEMBERS. Licensed non-administrative or non-supervisory employees of the District, other than teachers described in Article I.A above, shall have the right to become part of the bargaining unit represented by the Association if a majority of the members of an appropriate group of such employees vote for such representation in an election conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules which are in effect at the time of the election. The effective date of such representation shall coincide with the effective date of any successor agreement to this Agreement unless the parties mutually agree to an earlier effective date. The Association may decline to represent such groups if the Association gives notice thereof to the District and members of such group prior to the scheduling of such election.
