Outreach Efforts. The RNC and the Host Committee recognize the importance of supporting local businesses (including women and minority-owned or other historically underutilized businesses) in contracting for goods and services for the Convention and shall take same into account in fulfilling their respective obligations in this Agreement. To that end, the Host Committee shall make every reasonable effort to identify and solicit bids from businesses of various sizes owned by minorities, women and persons with disabilities, as contractors and as employees, involved in the performance of the responsibilities of the Host Committee hereunder. The Host Committee agrees to develop and implement a comprehensive community outreach plan within one (1) year (or earlier if possible) of the Effective Date.
Outreach Efforts. Developer shall utilize the resources of DSLBD, including DSLBD’s website (xxxx://xxxxx.xx.xxx). In particular, Developer shall submit all contracting opportunities for this Project to DSLBD for publication. Developer may identify individuals or businesses that could qualify as CBEs and is encouraged to refer any such firms to DSLBD’s Certification unit to apply for certification. In the event that Developer develops a website for the Project, such website shall (i) advertise upcoming bid packages, (ii) present instructions on how to bid, and (iii) directly link to DSLBD’s website.
Outreach Efforts. Good Faith Effort for Construction Projects Xxxxxx County does not certify HUB vendors. HUB vendors must complete the certification process with the State of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the City of Austin, or Texas Unified Certification Program. The vendor must hold a current valid certification from one of these entities. Xxxxxx County may review the certification status of any vendor applying to do business with the County. This review determines the validity and authenticity of the vendor's certification as a HUB. The Xxxxxx County HUB Coordinator works in conjunction with the various certifying agencies to conduct random audits of those vendors representing themselves as certified HUBs. If a vendor representing itself as a certified HUB does not meet the requirements of the certifying agency, the vendor may be disqualified as a certified HUB with Xxxxxx County. Outreach activities help educate the HUB community on the logistics of doing business with Xxxxxx County. The marketing and outreach programs entail:  Conducting workshops and seminars on the HUB Program and how it can help the HUB Entrepreneur be an active participant in the Xxxxxx County procurement process.  Identifying certifying agencies accepted by Xxxxxx County, and  Providing overall assistance to HUBs in various areas as required, within the limits of the Purchasing Act. Prime Contractors who are awarded contracts with the County are required to make a “Good Faith Effort” to subcontract with HUBs. This includes professional services associated with the projects.
