Common use of Overloaded Equipment Clause in Contracts

Overloaded Equipment. Do not operate on any road or street any hauling unit or equipment loaded in excess of (1) the maximum weights specified in the Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law, or (2) lower weights legally established for any section of road or bridge by the Department or local authorities. The governmental unit having jurisdiction over a particular road or bridge may provide exceptions by special permit under the provisions of 7-7.3. This restriction applies to all roads and bridges inside and outside the Contract limits as long as these roads and bridges are open for public use. The Contractor may overload roads and bridges which are to be demolished after they are permanently closed to the public. The Contractor is responsible for all loss or damages resulting from equipment operated on a structure permanently closed to the public.
