Common use of Overseas Expenditure Clause in Contracts

Overseas Expenditure. a. The Contractor shall report, in writing, to the Authority details of any direct Overseas expenditure valued over £1 million likely to be incurred in the execution of the Contract immediately the possibility is known if such details were not furnished at the time of tendering. The details to be provided are as follows: (1) Contract No; (2) Country in which subcontract placed / to be placed; (3) Name, Division and full postal address of Subcontractor; (4) Value of subcontract as applicable to main Contract; (5) Date placed / to be placed. b. If no Overseas orders valued over £1 million are to be placed, or are placed, the Contractor shall advise the Authority to this effect. c. For the purpose of clauses B2.a and B2.b Overseas expenditure comprises only those direct payments made by the Contractor to: (1) Overseas firms; and (2) UK firms, including UK branches or subsidiaries of Overseas firms, for the supply of finished or semi-finished manufactured products imported directly into the UK by the Contractor or by such UK firms. d. The Contractor shall submit any Information required by clause B2.a to the Authority’s Representative (Commercial).
