Common use of Owner’s Designated Representative Clause in Contracts

Owner’s Designated Representative. Prior to the start of construction, Owner will identify the Owner’s Designated Representative (ODR), who has the express authority to act and bind the Owner to the extent and for the purposes described in the various Articles of the Contract, including responsibilities for general administration of the Contract. 3.1.2.1 Unless otherwise specifically defined elsewhere in the Contract Documents, the ODR is the single point of contact between the Owner and Contractor. Notice to the ODR, unless otherwise noted, constitutes notice to the Owner under the Contract. 3.1.2.2 All directives on behalf of the Owner will be conveyed to the Contractor by the ODR in writing. 3.1.2.3 The ODR will furnish or cause to be furnished, free of charge, a digital set of the Drawings, Specifications, and Addenda. 3.1.2.4 The ODR will establish the protocol for planning, scheduling and documenting progress meetings with provisions for absence of various Project team members that have a key role in these duties.
