Common use of Ownership of Float Clause in Contracts

Ownership of Float. Unless indicated otherwise in the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall develop the Work Progress Schedule and its execution plan to provide a minimum of 10 percent total float at the project level at acceptance of the Baseline Schedule. Float time contained in the Work Progress Schedule is not for the exclusive benefit of the Contractor or the Owner, but belongs to the Project and may be consumed by either party as needed on a first-used basis.
