Patriot Act Certification Sample Clauses
The Patriot Act Certification clause requires parties to confirm their compliance with the USA PATRIOT Act, particularly regarding anti-money laundering and the identification of financial counterparties. In practice, this clause often obligates a party to verify the identity of its clients or business partners and to maintain records of such verification, sometimes by providing specific documentation or certifications. Its core function is to ensure that all parties involved in a transaction are not engaged in activities prohibited by anti-terrorism laws, thereby reducing the risk of inadvertently facilitating illegal financial activities.
